![]() People have the right to wonder if they are able to make the whole project cuz we really have very few informations how it's really going. I think the modeling could be done in 2019. The only thing I want from them is to be able to walk freely on the ship at sea with real time effects like sunset or sunrise Honestly I don't care if they are able to make the other parts like the sinking and the game itself, the modeling only matters to me, lot of people are waiting only this. Besides lot of museums and documentaries are interested about it If they rush the modeling or they reduce the quality, the project will lose its main interest. They have to do it because people won't wait 5 more years for the whole game to be done Once it's done they should release the tour mode, like an early access. The most important thing for now is to finish the whole modeling of the ship with awesome quality, they are able to do it and in a great way. "I'm doubtful of these huge promises" =/= "I think nothing will ever come of this." I think it would really help the team if they had someone engaging with the public on these issues or a dev log like any other indie game project but they won't do it.Īnd I'll end on repeating this: if tomorrow Tom posts a video and says "We did it! We got the money! Everyone's hired and we'll be done in 2020!" I will be the first to come on this website and admit I was wrong and cheer the team on. But what THG is promising has never been done before and refusing to show the road map beyond protests of stealing and vague promises they got this isn't convincing. There's no doubt in my mind they can get that and I'd happily get it if I had the means to play it. I think a fully interactive model of the Titanic is completely doable goal, and a good one. ![]() If you don't understand why I and others have a few questions then I don't know what to tell you. THG is promising something more advanced than both of these, combined - a real time sinking ship that's fully interactive and explorable (even with the "rooms are locked" caveat) with thousands of NPCs interacting and reacting with over 200 that can be spoken with - on a budget of a few million with three people and only vague promises of how they're going to achieve this. Meanwhile, Assassin's Creed III dropped plans to have Connor witness New York's Great Fire of 1776 because Ubisoft couldn't get the NPCs to act right. ![]() The game Uncharted 3 had a sinking ship sequence, and Naughty Dog said it was one of the hardest things they've ever done - and it was strictly on a guide rail basis. This is exactly what Martin and I are talking about with unfounded hype. Also, look at the pedestal you're putting it on: "Countless" people thanking them, second only to Cameron, etc. ![]() If you know of a moment where Tom, Matt and/or Kyle laid something out please tell me where and I will see it for myself and take back my criticism. ("We can't discuss that," "We have it figured out," "No," etc.). I've also listened to everything you have and I heard nothing but refusal and vagueness to these issues. But these are valid issues and questions. I'm sorry that you're so invested in this project that even the tiniest criticism is ruining it. Im not trying to sound like a jerk but i really dont really see how these discussions are adding to the community in a positive way, not trying to start a fight or anything but its just something that should be noted If you dont personally believe that the team can do it, at the very least try and not spoil it for the countless that think they can do it as they have built more of this ship than anyone before and have contributed to the Titanic community in a positive light second only to JC. ![]() If one does not believe in the project than that's your opinion and that's great have! But ruining it for other people is not very cool, even though one might make the argument that one is bringing out facts so people are not disappointed, the fact that the team has discussed/answered all these questions in a podcast/live-stream in the past makes some of these accusations almost mean sounding. I hate to be "that" guy but im not seeing any productiveness in this conversation. ![]()
